This is a deposit booking for 5 whole processed and ice chilled 4 pound broilers picked up at the farm and ready for you to take home and freeze or cut up and freeze the way you want them in March 2012. A deposit of $28.00 now and $25.00 when you pick up your chicken at the farm. Order as many increments of 5 that you like The price is $2.50 per pound. $10.00 per chicken. $3.00 goes to VCM. You will come to the farm and pick up your five chickens and be able to see how your chickens are raised and all the other things going on at the farm. This saves you $1.00 per pound off the town price, and lets us raise more chickens for you! Chickens are raised on pasture in Chicken Tractors, moving daily to new grass. They are fed a source verified and locally milled whole grain ration supplemented with Sea Kelp. These chicken get fresh air, good sunshine and fresh grass all day long! Approx. 35% of their daily intake is from grass and bugs. These are fresh whole chickens picked up at the farm and are weighing a average of 4 lbs.

A prime choice for privacy screening, fishing pole, or a bamboo fence. A fast grower in warm climate zones, but less aggressive in colder climates. It is growing well in New York's climate zone 6. Provides a thick impenetrable grove when untrimmed. The culm nodes are compacted giving this species a great look on larger culms. On small plants and often on mature size culm this species has low growing limbs. This species is very drought hardy. Light green canes turning golden when exposed to sun light. The culms ( canes) are very strong and upright. The culms sheaths are pale/green to pale/red. The auricles and oral setae are absent from the sheaths. Culms are excellent wood quality and the new shoots are edible. You can tell this is a true bamboo by the crooked culms it grows.

Black Bamboo is the oldest and most popular bamboo cultivated in the United States, first introduced in 1827. It has many unique characteristics. Individual culms go through a transformation in their first and second year providing bold, contrasting colors. Small, light green leaves radiate from the culms with airy, feather-like arrangement. By June or July they have reached their maximum height which is determined by the size and age of the grove. For example, a Phyllostachys that is 25 feet tall with two dozen culms, produces many new shoots that spear out of the ground in April and grow to 30 feet by June; over three feet per week, or over four inches every day. It is an amazing sight to behold. When finished pushing toward the sky, branches unfold from each node, shucking the culm sheaths and revealing a bright green culm. As the Summer progresses into Fall, the green culms begin to develop brown mottling concentrated at the nodes, especially near the base. By Winter the entire culm is speckled with fine black spots, usually dense enough toward the base to be solid brownish black. The culms you will be receiving are about 3/4 to 1 inch. They will be totally black and are hard as nails.

Average mature size: 1/4" x 3' , Hardy to -10 F, New foliage, in the Spring, is a beautiful gold with green stripes. This is another species that is best to mow down during the Fall and mulch. Rake back the mulch during the Spring for new lush foliage. The small culms (canes) are green to purple with soft to touch leaves. This species grows very well in zone 5. USDA zone 5-10, Sun/partial shade, Deer resistant, great container bamboo.

Average mature size 1/4” x 7', My bamboo here at the nursery in the sun grows to about 3 or 4 ft. It struggles and burns in the sun. In the shade it reaches about the same height, but I have not fertilized it at all. It also does not burn in the shade. Hardy to -10 degf, Sun/part shade, but does best in shade in high acid soil, Short wide dark green silk-like leaves grow right off the slender canes of this bamboo offering a non typical appearance. The perfect site is in a shaded area with acid soil. It can be planted under or around pine trees and does very well. USDA Zones 5-10.

This beef is pasture raised and grass fed until it reaches a size suitable for processing. If a person wishes a side the animal would be processed under U.S.D.A. inspection (which costs a little more) so I could have the other half processed for individual cut sales. Your cost will be based upon the hot rail weight of the half, times the price per pound. An estimate will be made as to the weight of the animal and you will be informed of that before the animal is taken to the processor. A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $200.00 WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE THE ANIMAL IS TAKEN TO THE PROCESSOR! This is a late blooming blueberry bush. Need to have at least two plants. Having blueberries on the brain is a bright idea—these fruits have helped senior rats keep their mental edge and counteracted the kind of damage seen after strokes; other studies also suggest anti-cancer and cholesterol-lowering benefits. Dwarf lowbush crossed with a true huckleberry bush. ‘Top Hat’ blueberry is a real winner. It can be grown as a potted patio plant or as a foreground plant in the edible garden or landscape. It has a consistent round growth habit, strong flowering, and large fruit set of delicious berries. The leaves are small, finely serrated and glossy green. This self-fertile variety doesn’t need a cross pollinator to set fruit. The plentiful white blossoms appear in spring followed by an abundance of sweet fruit in mid-summer. An exceptionally hardy variety, it’s cold tolerant to zone 3. ‘Top Hat’ is a new dwarf variety that grows only 20” tall x 24” wide. It originated as a multi-generational cross between true angustifolium ‘wild’ blueberries used to be known as huckleberries and standard northern lowbush blueberry selections. Grow in well-drained, acidic soil. Best grown in zones 3-7. Full sun, grown to 20” in containers. Uses: Jams, jellies, and baked goods; leaf tea long used to treat diabetes and urinary tract infections.
