Welcome!

Not only can you shop at our Outdoor Village Community Market on Fridays from 2:30 – 5 and our Indoor Market Wednesday – Saturday from 10 -3 (to 5 on Fridays), all at the Carmona Center, you can also order Online at your convenience and at your leisure and pick up at the time of your choice. Unlike most farmers’ markets that are seasonal, the Village Community Market is a YEAR ROUND MARKET.

You are buying directly from the seller, at prices set by the seller. They describe what is available, supply photos of the items, and set the purchase prices.

Our market provides truly homegrown foods from small farmers in the surrounding area who care about their communities and wish to provide the freshest, healthiest and highest quality food for Village residents. All of the farmers use strict standards that ensure clean, safe, humanely produced foods. There is no middleman or hidden costs. We offer you personalized service. Farm products you buy from us are picked or prepared to order, meaning that your food comes right from our farms to your table. We guarantee your satisfaction with our products!

The market also coordinates with local artisans from the Village and surrounding area to offer locally produced unique items. Need a gift? Look for locally created first before shopping elsewhere. Other specialty products will be available too.

The online ordering system offers the further benefit of additional vendors that may not display at the Friday or Indoor Market.

Why Support Locally Grown?

Enhance local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local sources you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.

Support a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.

Provide learning opportunities: Market supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture. We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

Ordering Options

Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with our online Market you can choose exactly what to buy, how much to buy, and from what producer. You have time to decide—long enough to fully browse the site and plan menus for the week.

• First, sign up for a free account to receive our emails or click on Your Account at the top of the page. Once you have an account you will be notified each Sunday around noon of what is available and you will be able to place your orders until Tuesday evening.

Order conveniently from the comfort of your home computer by visiting the market page for the weeks offerings; or if need be by responding directly to the e-mail, or by phone. You will receive an email confirmation of your order.

Know what you are purchasing with more information about the vendors, their practices and their products on our grower page;

Availability is flexible.

The growers estimate how much of each item that will be able to harvest a week ahead of time. This takes both skill and practice. Even so, unpredictable factors can make the difference between having a bumper crop or a very small harvest. So, the site will allow customers to keep on ordering an item even if sales have passed the estimated availability. The item might not be there when the order is put together, but then again, it just might be.

The produce is harvested to order.

After the ordering window has closed, the growers are notified of all of their orders for the week. They usually have a day or so to go out and harvest exactly what was ordered, package it, and deliver to the pick-up site.

Payment is taken when the orders are picked up.

Cash or checks are accepted for payment when the order is picked up. This is because adjusting the amount owed for an order will be a common occurrence. Maybe something ran short due to bad weather, or maybe there were extra items available on the table when the customer arrived, or maybe the grower decided to adjust the price down at the last minute to account for an imperfection.

If a customer places an order but for whatever reason does not arrive to pick it up, the customer is still responsible for paying for that order. Since everything is harvested to order, the growers still had to work to put the order together, and should therefore still get paid for that effort.

Picking Up Orders

Our online ordering system is unique in that you have a larger window of time to pick up your orders – either on Friday from 3 – 5 or on Saturday 10 – 3, at the Indoor Market located at the Carmona Center.

Join us in nourishing your connection to your community with food and hand-made products you trust from farmers and artisans you know!
